Blu Transition’s Album Review

She’s back! We were first introduced to Ohio native, Conya Doss in 2002 with her debut album “A Poem About Miss Doss.” She has returned with her fifth album, entitled “Blu Transition.” It’s been two years since her last album “Still” was released. While away from the music scene she has given birth to a baby boy Blu.

…showed me love is pure, now I’m sure, I’ll never be the same…” One of my favorite cuts is “Never Be the Same” which expresses the love between two people. Although the track was inspired by the birth of her son, it can still apply to a couple in love.

…my ex was a PC, you’re my MAC I use to keep a virus, you changed that. You took my heart and gave it an upgrade…” Another favorite off the track is “Wi-Fi.” The computer geek in me, truly loves this song. This song mentions everything from Microsoft to acronyms like OMG. The connection between tech words and a relationship makes this tune a keeper in my book.

“…what’s the use in trying to make it work, you’re never satisfied and that hurts…” Ladies and gents, haven’t you ever been in a relationship and you’re not even sure the purpose of it after a certain point. Always fussing and arguing or simply not happy being together. “Pointless” is the track for all of us who have endured this in our lives and for those dealing with it now. This is your anthem song.

Some other faves off the album are “Celebrate,” “What We Gone Do,” “You’re Not Ready,” and “Doesn’t Have to Be This Way.” This is definitely a relationship album. So there is something for everyone no matter what stage of your relationship you are in. From the “about to break-up” folks, to the newfound lovers.
