I remember way back when Will and Jada got together and started making babies and saying to myself…”those are going to be some good looking super talented kids.” Look at them now. Jaydan’s (12 years old) starred in 3 big blockbuster movies (The Pursuit of Happyness, The Day the Earth Stood Still, and The Karate Kid. Now his little sister Willow (9 years old) is next up to bat who actually starred in some films herself (I Am Legend, Kit Kittredge: An American Girl and Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa) but the films aren’t oddly enough isn’t what’s getting young Willow all the buzz these days…it’s her singing career!
When I first heard she had a song out I honestly didn’t take it serious at all. I mean come on! She’s 9 for God sake and signing. So I couldn’t even picture something like Lil Bow Wow did when he first came on to the scene with his ghost writers. So I gave her the benefit of the doubt and took a listen to her new single “Whip My Hair” and I was very shocked. This shit bangs! The track has a dope beat, very catchy hook as simple as it is, and the little girl can sing! What really impressed me even more is the interview she did with Ryan Seacrest down below. She looks just like Jada! Talks and carries herself like Jada! It’s a trip. She’s like a mini me lol And very mature, down to earth, mature, and wholesome. Oh and did I mention Jay- Z singed her to his new label Roc Nation?! Shot out to Azaleah aka Puertozillian! lol

Trey Songz- Passion, Pleasure, Pain (album review/ video)
Happy Monday Soulified! How was everyone’s weekend? Got the new Trey Songz album last Friday and have been bumping it all weekend.
I gotta admit the album is a lot better then I thought it was going to be. Trey has definitely matured as an artist because the whole album is very well rounded. And for my dude’s that are looking for a good “beating/ panty droppin” album this is the one! lol I know I’ll def be putting this album on next time I knock some boots. lol Big up’s to Trey for this one. I appreciate it family. hahaha The track list is a little different from the one I posted a few weeks ago in the album sneak peek where all of you can still download and listen to the 6 tracks off the album highlighted below by clicking. The album’s very similar to Dwele’s W.ants W.orld W.omen album in the sense that he broke the album into 3 separate part with the parts relating to the album title’s 3 words. Though Trey’s words aren’t in the right order in his track list as they are in the album title I’m not mad at him for trying and doing it the way he did because it makes the album that much more interesting. Make sure to buy the album tomorrow (Sep 14th) when it drops.
The video for the new single off the album “Can’t Be Friends” and I’m feeling this video big time. It’s a simple concept but it gets the point and lyrics across. More artist should focus on feeling and simplicity when doing video’s because all the crazy graphics and special effects and shit aren’t needed. The song is dope as well cause I feel every word he’s singing on a personal level as I’m sure a lot of you are as well. This cut defiantly leads me to believe that his album will truly be the most personal to date.

Awwwwyuuuup! Halfy Monday Soulifiedian’s! Thought I’d give you a little taste test of what’s to come on Trey’s fourth studio album, Passion, Pain & Pleasure, which will be released on September 14, 2010. Trey has stated that the album will be his most personal to date. The first single off the album is Bottoms Up as some of you may have heard it on the radio and if not that’s because it’s a wack single and the radio station in your area feels the same way. The beat and the concept around the song just doesn’t do it for me. Nicki Minaj doesn’t even do the song any justice although her ass does in the video lol But hell that’s expected.

Taking a look down below I’m not feeling the album art work at all. That ole rainy window technique is old as fuck. He’s literally behind plexi glass while an assistant sprays water on in it. I love the crisp classic feel this one has and how Cee Lo tell’s his “Fuck You” story from a child and uses the toy car’s as a metaphor for what he has vs what she want’s as the gold digger at that age. lol Classick! Could this track be another possible leak off Dre’s highly anticipated Detox album to go with the other leaked song featuring Jay Z? Hmmmmm well if you ask me I’d tell you that I don’t really give a damn. Detox was suppose to drop in 2004 and were now 6 years into 2010. I don’t know about you but I was over the album in 2005 with as long as he’s taking to make it and now claims it will drop sometime this year lol. Dre had this to say on his site about the leaked tracks…
No shit Dre! The songs are a 2 minutes long with one verse! And am I the only one thinking that Bishop Lamont, Dre’s ex artist wrote his lyrics on this track?! I swear if Dre’s name wasn’t on the title I would of thought it was a Bishop Lamont track because he is dead on with the way he spits and Dre doesn’t spit like this at all! I wouldn’t be surprised if Dre went through the hundreds of songs Bishop recorded while under Aftermath that Dre technically owns and jacked the bars from him. I’m going to have to get a hold of Bishop Lamont and ask him personally. lol But yeah I’m feeling the beat, sample, hook, and Bishop Lamonts lyrics on this one none the less. lol

I’ve had this single in my “exclusives vault” for a hot sec and it is by far one of my favorite singles. Lost count on how many times I’ve listened to this track and for the longest I thought it was a Drake single with a random singer friend of his. Come to find out it’s an official Dirty Money track off they’re new up and coming album “Last Train To Paris.”
Puff’s singing is pretty damn decent on this track along with Drake’s harmonizing and bar’s towards the end. Nice beat. Love love love the hook. Super catchy, original, and I can relate to a time in my life where I loved someone more then I loved myself *tear drops* lol Dirty Money’s album is expected to drop in the fall 2010 sometime. Till then enjoy this single before the radio gets a hold of it cause I can guarantee this will be a track that they play out.

Now I’ll be the very first to admit that Nicki Minaj’s voice, prior songs, weird movements, fashion sense, and facial expressions bug the shit out of me. But I am not even mad at her for this track and the video to go with it.
I first heard this track on Power 106’s “New at 2” segment and was immediately hooked. The sample is dope. The beat knock’s. The hook is catchy. Her singing voice is on point (even with the auto tune). And the lyrics have a dope LL Cool J vibe with a female twist. Then MTV puts out the actual video as well as the behind the scenes for it and that was the icing on the cake! For those that don’t know I’m a second degree black belt so the Geisha karate themed theme of the video had me hooked from the start. And to top it off she has an actual martial artist and great actor; Michael Jai White as her leading man. The story line is nice with her being one of his students and falling for him as well.
My 3 complaints about this video:
- Kill like 90% of all the flowy artsy silk crap and have an actual Japanese style karate Dojo as well as the outside scenery.
- The karate choreography is boo boo.
- And for all of us fellow’s she covered ALL of her booty through out the whole damn video! lol
